20 Dec Week 5: Sunday Adventures to Kapaa
We hopped the bus down to a new town to explore – the biggest city on the island — Kapaa! We spent the day roaming its southern beaches and seeking out food finds!
We started off with this hole-in-the-wall Hawaiian BBQ place next to the grocery store — Teriyaki beef, pork, chicken, pasta salad and rice for $12, plus a side of pan-fried gyoza — super yummy start to the day at a nearby Fuji beach picnic table.
After our lovely lunch, we roamed the town checking out various shops and taking stock of restaurants and bars. We came upon amazing palm and ironwood groves as we explored other beaches.
After plenty of walking, we stopped at a local tap house for some island beers (Passionfruit Guava Orange IPA & Golden Ale from Kona) … then finished up with some amazing fish tacos before catching the bus home!
