09 Dec New Adventures in Fruit – Longan & Rambutan

We were gifted two bags of these magical fruits by our awesome farmer’s market neighbor Jenny. I’ve never had either! Both are related to the lychee, grow on trees, and are peeled to reveal a small round fruit (like a peeled grape) with a pit. The Rambutans are my favorite, like a strawberry grape – while the Longans taste mostly like melon.

Longan literally means “dragon eye” — not hard to see why!
