October kicked off quickly with a 5 day trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin to celebrate Aaron’s brother’s wedding. Josh and Katie were getting married and celebrating along the small Mississippi River towns between the Twin Cities and their new house in Alma, WI.
The long weekend was packed full of celebrating with Aaron’s family and long time family friends. We had 5 days of great food, live music, dancing and speeches (Aaron was Best Man)!
Perfect timing for the autumn colors in the Midwest!
Congrats to Josh & Katie!
After the ceremony in a beautiful old church in Bay City WI, we headed to nearby Red Wing, MN for dinner & reception with the wedding party and close friends and family. The autumn leaves were in full spectrum, making the leisurely drives between locations stunning every day.
After the speeches, Aaron surprised everyone with an impromptu proposal — and I couldn’t wait to say Yes!
Celebrating the big announcement!
Aaron and I have been talking about what kind of commitment ceremony we could do for a few years now, and naturally I was ecstatic to make it official!
The following day was the huge wedding reception, hosted at a friend’s barn outside St. Paul, MN. The barn looked incredible, and the party lasted all day and into the night with great food and a fantastic band, featuring some songs sung by the bride!
Amazing job decorating the barn for the all-day reception!
Tons of games, tables, and of course a bonfire!
Late night mugs of tea by the fire
Recovery brunch with bloodies and the Packers on the WI side of the river
We began our last day with bloody mary’s and brunch in Prescott, WI before heading back to the cities. We saw another local at the newest riverside park in Minneapolis, enjoying some great tea from a spot in Northeast. We had our whirlwind weekend of joy finished, and crashed early that night to get ready for our Monday flight back to New Mexico.
