30 Dec Week 6: Sunday Beach + Packers Celebration
Sunday was a big day off for us. We gathered our supplies for a day at a new beach nearby, followed by dinner & the Packer game at the local bar in Kilauea. We’d been hearing about Rock Quarry beach’s glory for several weeks and we finally got to check it out! It’s a beach at the end of Kilauea Stream that also has an amazing ironwood grove. We were thinking about hopping to a 2nd beach that day but after arriving at Rock Quarry, we loved it too much to leave before game time!
We brought a picnic spread of lilikoi goat cheese, smoked gouda, crackers, chives & dill, hardboiled eggs and some dark chocolate. Aaron fermented a small bottle of tangelo wine that we brought, along with a bottle of wine from the market: a pineapple white from Maui! It tasted almost exactly pineapple juice and we cut it down with soda water to ease the sweetness.

After the beach time got us good and sun kissed & salty, we got fresh fish appetizers, Sunday-special burgers & fries for dinner while the Packers crushed the Titans in the Wisconsin snow. It was our “Christmas date” with each other and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!
